PhD candidate
Mélina is a doctoral student registered with the Order of Psychologists of Quebec, under the supervision of Alexandra Oliveira Paiva, psychologist. She is in the final stages of her doctoral studies at UQAM.
She offers virtual psychotherapy services in French for adolescents aged 14 and older, as well as adults. She addresses various issues, such as anxiety, depression, burnout, difficulties with assertiveness and self-esteem, mood disorders, relational or family challenges, identity questions, emotional management and regulation, and adaptation or transition challenges.
Mélina’s clinical training is highly diverse. She completed her three internships with varied clienteles (children, adolescents, and adults) and in three different contexts (university clinic, family medicine group, and school setting). She is primarily trained in cognitive-behavioral therapy and acceptance and commitment therapy, occasionally using schema therapy (Young). She offers an integrative, flexible, and respectful approach tailored to each individual's needs, creating a therapeutic environment based on acceptance, authenticity, and trust. Her approach involves active support focused on co-construction while respecting each person’s pace.
Outside of her private practice, Mélina works in research and is interested in the psychological health and well-being of parents with a child experiencing different developmental needs. In her practice, Mélina offers sessions weekly or biweekly, depending on the needs and goals.
